Can Facebook get you fired? Maybe. Can making critical comments about your employer, fellow employees or work customers on Facebook get you in trouble at work. Yes. Unless you live in a state that specially protects social media communications (not many yet) or your Union Contract (if you have one) protects those activities, you are likely open to discipline or firing by an angry employer. So, be careful who you “friend” from work and what you say about work and customers on your social media. Facebook and other social media is generally looked upon as a type of open speech. And, criticizing your employer, fellow employees or customers “on-line” is likely not protected from work place discipline or termination.
